Alpina is coming out of a 20 year hiatus from racing as it is all set to take on Porsche and Ferrari in the FIA GT3 European Championship this year. With what? Their new BMW Alpina B6 GT3. Based on the Series, the street legal race car is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 engine (mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox), outputs 520hp, takes it from0 to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and tops off at 285km/hr. Alpina is still hunting for drivers to ride this beauty in this year’s race, but the good news comes from the fact that it is also available to public sale. Set for official release at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show in March, the Alpina B6 GT3 seems to be a hot set of wheels already!
